Like many regions in Africa, Cameroon has been impacted tremendously by the AIDS epidemic. As an administrator of a local hospital in Cameroon, Martin Jam, a native of Cameroon, saw firsthand the devastation that follows in the wake of the AIDS virus. Children lose their parents, extended families cannot support the children left to them, education is a luxury in a land where survival is the priority. These are the facts of life that the orphans in Cameroon deal with day after day. Martin wanted to make a difference; he wanted to find a way to significantly impact the lives of these orphans.

Children’s Outreach Program came into existence because of the passion of Martin Jam, friends and supporters. The program is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the orphans of Cameroon both now and in their future. Children’s Outreach Program works specifically to provide tuition, school supplies, clothing, medical care and housing for these orphans. The Popcorn Shop joined with the efforts of Children’s Outreach Program just 3 years ago. With the help of our customers and those who have volunteered their time and products for COP, The Popcorn Shop has been able to raise over $18,000 which has gone 100% to help these children!
